In Nsukka, Enugu State, over 300 pupils at Ugwogo Primary School risk their lives daily learning under a severely dilapidated classroom block. The building, originally constructed in the early 1980s, has not seen any meaningful renovation in decades. The roof is leaking, several wooden beams are infested and rotting, and parts of the wall have already fallen.
During the rainy season, students are either sent home or packed into a single usable class, causing overcrowding and serious health concerns. The school lacks basic learning tools — no chairs, no books, and no safe toilets. Despite repeated letters to the local government and PTA appeals, nothing has been done.
This report is submitted in hopes that it reaches the eyes of those in power and concerned citizens who can push for change. Every Nigerian child deserves a safe place to learn..
